My Journey Home - And Why I'm Fighting for Ours
I started serving on the Lompoc School Board because I believed our kids deserved a voice. I stayed for two years, then took that fight to Santa Barbara County—because I knew I could do more. But here's the truth: My heart never left Lompoc.
As a nurse in this town, I have held hands during the most difficult moments and witnessed firsthand the struggle of families without resources, the neglect of uncleaned streets, and the weight of feeling forgotten. I have shared that same deep longing to finally stop searching and start building, working to make this city a true home for myself and for every one of us.
So here I am. Not a career politician. Not someone chasing a title. I'm a mom, a neighbor, a nurse who still believes in the power of showing up. "It takes a village" and our village is hurting. But we can fix that—together.
I am asking you to join me. Let's clean up our streets and take care of each other. Let's make Lompoc the home we all deserve. I'm not asking for your vote. I'm asking for your help. Sign up now. Volunteer and show up. Because we know change doesn't start in City Hall, it starts with us.
What Lompoc is Saying
Community leaders and neighbors across our city are standing with Sarah Anne Read for a stronger, safer Lompoc.
"Having worked alongside her in community outreach, I've seen her heart for our neighbors. She listens first and then acts with integrity."
Dr. Elena Rivers
Neighborhood Leader
"Her background in code enforcement makes her uniquely qualified to address the safety challenges in our neighborhoods. Lompoc needs her expertise."
Mark Thompson
Retired Public Safety Officer
"I've lived in Lompoc for many years, and this community has become a big part of my life. I care about where Lompoc is headed and want to see more opportunities for families here. I hope we can build a future that gives people more reason to stay, grow and be proud to call Lompoc home.
Thanks Danielle! I am listening!"
